Additional Experience:
- Successfully led interdisciplinary team of consultants through the permitting process to obtain the first non-state owned fishing lake permit
- Served as Environmental Solicitor for Newton County prosecuting misdemeanor County Ordinance and Zoning violations (solid waste, zoning, nuisance, etc.) as well as preparing orders for the presiding Judge's signature. Advised local government and departments such as Planning & Zoning, Animal Control and Code Enforcement on day to day operations and matters.
- Represented a dog trainer in an EPA enforcement action under the Clean Water Act for unpermitted training facility that impacted approximately 18 acres of wetlands.
- Represented a client in negotiations with a utility provider, successfully reducing the tap fee necessary for the development by half.
- Represented clients in large industrial projects to obtain rezonings for landfill and quarry operation expansions as well as variances to allow the construction of commercial retail developments.
- Negotiated and acquired property necessary for development and lake projects.
- Completed extensive title review to identify land parcels with legal restrictions to development, identifying particular parcels that would necessitate revisions to federal permits
- Prepared Conservation Easements for the protection of property associated with compensatory mitigation
- Prepared Conservation Easement for donation of property and client tax benefit
- Represented a client and successfully obtained a reduced in designated area of potential effect for adverse impacts to a site eligible for the National Register of HIstoric Places.
